Guardians of Time has always been a band with a lot of potential, but I think that earlier on in their career, they were still finding their voice. With Rage and Fire, they've found it.I had been waiting to get this for a while now, just because I thought it would be more of the same. But the samples were really good, and their promo video was also really good. So I finally broke down and bought it. I now regret waiting so long to get it.This is excellent, mature power metal that fires on all cylinders. While some tracks are better than others, there are no weak tracks and no fluff (a problem in their earlier albums). The only reason I skip tracks on this album is because there are songs that I'm just impatient to hear. The songwriting has improved DRAMATICALLY over their earlier stuff. So have the vocals. The rhythm guitars really drive the power in this album. It's less about solos (though they do exist) and more about driving riffs.Best songs are "Euphoria" (just so catchy, and with a good structure) and "Rage and Fire" (a fantastically defiant feel). I highly recommend it.
